Sum it all up!

I have to say this was the most fun I've ever had in art class! Not only did I learn a ton of new things, but I had fun every step of the way. Some stuff I remember doing is still life drawing, batick, charcoal, textile paintings and scratchboard. I enjoyed a lot of stuff, but the things that I was good at were still life, charcoal and scratchboard. I didn't really like painting or baticks. I find paint is hard to blend and it's not one of my better skills. Let's just say I like being able to mess up a ton and be able to erase my mistakes, not easy with paint! Which brings me to the point that I learned a whole lot more about my artistick abilities. I found that I am better with charcoal pencils and drawing real life objects and people. Drawing things like cartoons or just graphic stuff like zentangles aren't my forte, as well as painting. I even entered some stuff in art fair this year for the first time, which was really cool! I won 5th and 3rd places for some of my work, even though I wasn't too happy about the pieces that won, but now I know what to enter in the future. All in all, this year was really fun, and I picked up on skills that I will be sure to continue in the future!(:

twisted fairytale

My twisted fairytale was little red riding hood. You can't really see it, but she has a little dagger in her hand to stab the wolf it. I liked this project, I thought it was a really fun idea!(:

Texture painting thing

I thought this was going to turn out really well, and it did, but due to stupid comments that got to my head about it being racist, it changed, and didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. I think I'll do another one like this, the way I intended it to be, so consider this like a 'rough draft'.

Surielism Painting

On the left is an "evil" flamingo and on the right is a "good" horse. They are rising out of the waves as the night time stars twinkle red and white. It looks much cooler in person(:

Semester "Test"

I learned about a lot of new things this semester. For the most part I liked everything that we did. The things  didn't like were doing badges, zentangles, and the textile paintings. I learned that I am not good at drawing cartoonish stuff. I also don't like being limited in a project, I like being able to go above and beyond. I really liked drawing still life and painting this surielism stuff. My favorite by far is charcoal. Even though we really didn't do a huge unit on it, I started experimenting and found out I was really good at drawing realistic things. Faces mostly. I deffienetly will keep up with my charcoal drawings. I would like to do a unit on pastels, I still like using those. All in all, good semester!
